AMOSSHE, the Student Services Organisation
AMOSSHE is the UK Student Services Organisation. We inform and support the leaders of Student Services, and represent, advocate for, and promote the student experience. 148 UK and International higher education institutions are members of AMOSSHE.
AMOSSHE promotes the development and sharing of good practice within Student Services in the HE sector at a national level. We hold several training events throughout the year, an annual conference, provide policy briefings for members, and facilitate regional and special interest discussions. We work closely with influential sector groups and policy makers to promote and represent our member interests.
AMOSSHE delivers national projects supporting and enabling Student Services managers:
- The Value & Impact Toolkit launched on 9 June 2011, the product of AMOSSHE's HEFCE LGM panel funded Value & Impact Project. The Value & Impact toolkit site offers a journey through the concepts and includes individual downloads of each interactive tool.
- We managed Students FIRST, a JISC funded project involving Anglia Ruskin University, the University of East London, John Smith & Son and other technology providers, with research delivered by Continuum. The Students FIRST outputs give insights into the effectiveness of targetting bursary spend on the learning experience, and practical information and tips to help Student Services and commercial partners work together in the student interest.
AMOSSHE’s expertise is developed from its membership and collective learning. The information provided on and made available through our resources are for information purposes only. Ideas and comments issued by AMOSSHE in consultation responses or other policy briefings are expressions of ideas drawn together from across the AMOSSHE membership. The views and opinions expressed are those of AMOSSHE and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of any institution or organisation. AMOSSHE does not issue specific advice to managers or departments on their conduct and is not a trade union.
