AMOSSHE is delighted to present this one-day strategic conference giving insight into evaluating the value and impact of services that support students effectively. The day builds on AMOSSHE's national Value and Impact work, and the toolkit published by AMOSSHE in summer 2011 to widespread acclaim.

Evaluating Student Services is not new, but the Value and Impact approach enables departments to consider evaluation in a new, more holistic way. It asks managers to challenge the status quo and think about the real Value and Impact of their services. What is the worth of what they are doing? What difference is the service making to the individuals? This approach:

  • underpins the evidence base for the contribution of Student Support services in HE
  • forms part of the continued development of professionalism in the Student Services community and the increasingly strategic approach to the management and delivery of student services
  • can lead to demonstrable and practical improvements in Student Services delivery, enhancing student learning, acheivement, retention and success.

'Value and Impact: Why do we do what we do?' draws together lessons from professionals pioneering the value and impact approach and specialists in Lean management and benchmarking practice. By combining a series of keynotes and workshops, the day will provide a valuable opportunity for you to gain the confidence and means to prove and improve the value and impact of what you do.
