Payment

AMOSSHE welcomes payments for events online by credit or debit card, by bank transfer or by cheque. For invoiced payments, you have 30 days to pay from the date of the invoice.

AMOSSHE will make every effort to ensure that you are charged the correct booking rate. However, please note that the onus is on you to provide the correct information and choose the correct rate applicable to you.

What AMOSSHE provides

AMOSSHE will make every effort to deliver the event as described on our events page. For in-person events, AMOSSHE will usually provide refreshments and lunch.

However, there may be some differences to the event as described due to circumstances beyond AMOSSHE’s control. For example, a speaker might be unable to deliver their session, a substitute might take their place, or the timing of their session might change. Or for in-person events, AMOSSHE may be required to change the venue.

Event resources

AMOSSHE will share the event resources (for example presentations, handouts) with all attendees if the content creator has given their consent to do so. The resources remain the intellectual property of the people who created them. You may use the resources for your own internal business use and benefit, but not for resale or other reuse for commercial purposes.

Event cancellation

If AMOSSHE cancels an event that you have booked to attend:

  • We will notify you as soon as possible.
  • You will receive a full refund of your booking fee.
  • We won’t reimburse the cost of travel or accommodation arrangements you may have made.
  • If AMOSSHE is able to reschedule the event, we will offer you the opportunity to transfer your booking to the new date instead of receiving a refund.

Your data

AMOSSHE handles your personal data according to our privacy policy. We won't share your personal data with speakers, session leaders or sponsors, unless you consent to this on the form when you book.

Photography and filming

During our events we may do one or all of the following:

  • Take general photographs.
  • Record all audio output from the event.
  • Video record the event proceedings.
  • Live stream selected event proceedings.

AMOSSHE will use the photographs for marketing and publicity in our publications, on our website and in social media, or in any third party publication.

For virtual events AMOSSHE will share recordings with delegates afterwards, and then make the recordings available to AMOSSHE members securely at a later date (for example the end of the academic year). The recordings will generally be of presentation sessions only, which may include delegates’ questions and comments. Discussion sessions, workshops and ‘Chatham House rule’ sections won’t be shared in this way.

By booking to attend an AMOSSHE event you consent for your questions and comments from the floor to be included in the recording sent out after the event.

If you don't want to be photographed or video recorded, please let AMOSSHE know in advance of the event, or on arrival for in-person events.

Terms and conditions for different kinds of events

There are separate booking terms and conditions for different kinds of AMOSSHE continuing professional development (CPD) events:

  • Virtual events (webinars, online workshops and conferences).
  • One day in-person CPD events.
  • The AMOSSHE National Conference when held in-person.

When you book to attend an AMOSSHE event, you agree to the terms and conditions relevant to that event.

For all kinds of event, your place is guaranteed only if you have received a booking confirmation from email.

Here are the terms and conditions for the different kinds of AMOSSHE event:

Virtual event booking terms and conditions

These booking terms and conditions apply to all AMOSSHE virtual events, including webinars, online workshops and conferences, and the AMOSSHE National Conference when hosted online.

Cancellation

If you want to cancel your attendance at a virtual event, please contact the AMOSSHE National Office as soon as possible.

If you notify AMOSSHE of the cancellation eight calendar days before the event, AMOSSHE will not charge you the full original booking fee. If you have already paid, we will refund you. AMOSSHE will charge no fee for any cancellations made during this period.

If you cannot attend but you have a colleague who would like to attend the event in your place, please see Change of delegate below. Please don't pass the event link on to a colleague, because anyone who attends but is not registered for the event will be charged the full booking fee.

AMOSSHE cannot permit cancellations within eight calendar days of the event. If you cancel during this period, or if you do not attend the event, AMOSSHE will still charge for the full original booking fee, and will not give any refund. You will still receive a recording of the event (the parts that speakers have consented to share) as well as any resources (for example presentations, worksheets).

Change of delegate

If you want to change a booked delegate for someone else, please contact the AMOSSHE National Office as soon as possible and email the details. The cost of a place at a virtual event differs depending on whether the delegate is an AMOSSHE member or not.

AMOSSHE will charge no fee for any delegate substitutions made eight calendar days before the event. If the type of place for the new delegate is different to the original booking (for example a non-member replacing a member) AMOSSHE will charge for the difference in cost.

AMOSSHE cannot permit substitutions within eight calendar days of the event. If a substitute (or any unbooked) attendee attends the event on the day, AMOSSHE will charge the full booking fee for that attendee.

In-person CPD event booking terms and conditions

These booking terms and conditions apply to all AMOSSHE CPD events hosted in-person at a venue (rather than online).

Cancellation

If you cancel your attendance at a one day in-person CPD event, and AMOSSHE can replace you with another delegate, we will charge you a £20 administration fee. AMOSSHE will not charge you the full original booking fee. If you have already paid, we will refund the booking fee (minus the administration fee if appropriate). AMOSSHE cannot permit substitutions with less than two working days’ notice of the event.

If AMOSSHE cannot replace you with another delegate, we will refund or charge you as follows. If AMOSSHE receives notification of the cancellation:

Less than one calendar month, but ten or more working days, before the event
AMOSSHE will refund 50% of the original booking fee if you have paid already, or otherwise invoice for 50% of the original booking fee

AMOSSHE will not give any refund, and will charge for the full original booking fee

Change of delegate

If you want to change a booked delegate for someone else, please contact the AMOSSHE National Office as soon as possible, and email the details. The cost of a place at a CPD event differs depending on whether the delegate is an AMOSSHE member or is associated with AMOSSHE. AMOSSHE will charge no fee for any delegate substitutions made ten or more working days before the event, as long as the type of place for the new delegate is the same for as for the original booked delegate.

Substitutions made with more than two but less than ten working days’ notice are subject to a £20 administration fee.

AMOSSHE cannot permit substitutions with less than two working days’ notice of the event. If a substitute (or any unbooked) attendee comes to the event on the day, AMOSSHE will charge the full booking fee for that attendee, in addition to the original booking fee.

In-person National Conference booking terms and conditions

These booking terms and conditions apply to the AMOSSHE National Conference when hosted in-person at a venue (rather than online). 

Cancellation

If a delegate wants to cancel their place at the conference, please contact the AMOSSHE National Office as soon as possible.

If the National Office receives notice of the cancellation in advance of the start of the conference, AMOSSHE may refund the cost of the booking, as follows:

If AMOSSHE can replace the cancellation with another delegate before the week of the conference, we will not charge you the full original booking fee. Instead, AMOSSHE will charge a £40 administration fee. If you have already paid, we will refund the booking fee (minus the administration fee if appropriate).

Change of delegate

If a delegate wants someone else to attend in their place at the conference, please contact the AMOSSHE National Office by email as soon as possible.

The cost of a place at the conference differs depending on whether the delegate is an AMOSSHE member or is associated with AMOSSHE. Therefore the cost of the booking may change for the substituted delegate.

In addition, substitutions will incur an administration fee, depending on when the National Office receives notice of the substitution in advance of the start of the conference, as follows:

AMOSSHE does not accept changes of delegate for single days of a residential or three day booking. If a substitute (or any unbooked) attendee comes to the event on the day, AMOSSHE will charge the full booking fee for that attendee, in addition to the original booking fee.
