UNIPOL: Student Wardens, Wardens, Residential Staff and On-Site Services in Student Accommodation (Leeds)
Following the success of this course run in October 2007 in London , UNIPOL is re-running ‘Student Wardens, Wardens, Residential Staff and On-Site Services in Student Accommodation: Getting the Service and Balance Right - providing care, reception facilities and onsite help’ on Friday 27 June 2008 in Leeds.
The one day round table event will explore the types of services to be provided, how to get the balance right between reception facilities, security and out of hours services.
Over the last three years most student accommodation suppliers, particularly those housing mainly first year or international students, have made significant changes to their on-site services.
This training seminar (which will be suitable for those looking at the strategic options available within a service provision context, those managing such buildings and those involved directly in service provision) will seek to explore services that have been offered successfully and cost effectively.
The day will also look at the balance between residential, reception and security services on site and examine who does what best. A case study, at the University of Greenwich, looks at both a portfolio and a service undergoing rapid change and looks at what changes have been made in this area and what has worked best. The day also includes a vital session on how on site staff, wardens and student staff can be paid and contracted legally within the myriad of regulations now affecting their employment. What is "on-call" and is a free room really remuneration for duties, and are those duties specified?
This will be a stimulating day for all those interested in the effective and targeted delivery of on site services that results in transparency, staff commitment and higher levels of customer satisfaction. The day will take the form of a round table discussion, with structured presentations but with plenty of time for delegates' own experiences, input and questions.
For further information, full agenda, and details of how to book on to this training seminar please see UNIPOL website for this event or call 0113 2053404. Alternatively you can contact UNIPOL by e-mail.
