This is the next event in the series of IMPACT Network meetings to explore ways to maximise funding opportunities that will support the development of new initiatives or to extend existing disability provision.  For instance creating a new post or delivering an action research project.  A range of funding streams under the following headings will be considered:

  • National
  • Regional
  • Professional body and discipline specific
  • Institutional
  • Departmental

Possible projects and initiatives will be discussed along with examples of current sector HE initiatives that have been funded from sources in addition to mainstream disability funding.

Provisional contributors include:

  • Dr Helen May - The Higher Education Academy (HEA) - making the most of funding bids
  • University of Hull - Action research project to screen and support students with SpLD in nursing funded jointly by the University, HEA and the Strategic Health Authority
  • University of Essex - providing a disabled student Buddy scheme funded via the University OFFA strategy
  • University of Westminster – developing resources to support academic staff in delivering an inclusive curriculum, TQEF funded.
