ELLA (East London Links with AMOSSHE) was a pilot case study, supported by the JISC Embedding WorkWithIT project, looking at horizon scanning and change management in introducing new technologies to assist with the delivery of support services.

Introducing technology-enhanced services and business processes can have a significant impact on the working practices of front line staff and their day-to-day practices, internal relationships and indeed roles. Like Work-with IT, AMOSSHE recognises that these staff must be fully supported to deliver the sometimes radical changes required of them if new systems are to be successful, and their benefits fully realised.

Funded by JISC, ELLA explored the 'change management' and 'horizon scanning' elements within the Work-with-IT toolkit, to contribute to the Embedding-with-IT work.  ELLA looked at the rollout of a diary system at the University of East London to provide a 'real life' case study of the adoption of a new technology.  It was one of six pilots across the UK, each undertaken in partnership with a professional sector body.
