Consent is everything: Nottingham Consent Coalition
This free webinar for Student Services leaders explores Nottingham city’s response to sexual violence and the role of the university within this. Katrina Daoud (Sexual Violence Project Officer) and Sarah Bustard (Student Health and Wellbeing Manager) from Nottingham Trent University discuss how partnership working across organisations in Nottingham and university links with the wider community have improved support and signposting for students.

The Nottingham City Sexual Violence Action Network (SVAN) was created in 2016 to ensure that Nottingham has an effective response to sexual violence. The SVAN is chaired by Nottingham Trent University and comprises statutory and voluntary sector organisations, including the Sexual Assault Referral Centre, Nottinghamshire Police, and two universities. In February 2020, the group proudly launched The Consent Coalition, a city-wide campaign raising awareness about consent through a poster campaign, a survey, and the nationally recognised ‘Your Journey’ booklet - a survivor’s guide to support and reporting.
Find out how partnership working with the SVAN has clarified referral pathways, streamlined messages and improved the survivor journey. Also, take the opportunity to review your own practices and partnerships, identify gaps, and create a plan to increase networks in your own communities.
