Trying to create happiness in the workplace
In this free webinar for Student Services leaders Will Cooper (Head of Student Services, BIMM Institute) suggests simple, easy and cheap opportunities to change the working lives of the people who work in your teams.
In an ever more demanding workplace, working with a team of front line support workers and administrators, the BIMM Institute Principal bought every manager a book. He set a challenge to make difficult working conditions better for the team. The book was Bruce Daisley's The Joy of Work, which included ideas and innovations about changes we can make to increase the happiness of our staff. Will's team implemented ideas founded on research. This is the story so far about what the team have tried, what worked and what didn’t.
This lighthearted session offers a chance for managers and leaders to think creatively. The session was originally planned and written for a ‘pre-lockdown’ office environment, but we'll also take time to address the question of ‘what now?’ for office environments like this where front line support is a key part of the service.
