Presentation
The transition into university life is a critical period for students that shapes their academic, social, and personal trajectories. The '100 Days 100 Voices' campaign at the University of Liverpool provides a comprehensive picture of the experiences of students during transition.
Through a mixed-methods approach that involves longitudinal surveys and qualitative narratives, the study captures the voices of over 1,000 students each year, offering nuanced insights into their sense of belonging, engagement, and challenges. In the project's third year, more than three-quarters of new undergraduates are excited about the future, though many have concerns about social integration and finances, and while engagement is strong, traditional delivery methods often fall short for commuter and mature students. By day 100, a majority of students feel part of the university community and confident in their academic abilities.
This session outlines the methodology, key findings, and the campaign’s innovative features, including real-time feedback loops and social media student takeovers. Delegates will gain actionable insights into fostering inclusive and supportive environments that enhance the student experience.
