Disabled Students Commitment: reasonable adjustments for PGR disabled students

12.20pm – 12.55pm BST, 15 April 2026 ‐ 35 mins

Presentation

This session focusses on the Disabled Student Commitment On-course Experience touchpoint and shares a project undertaken by the University of Greenwich exploring reasonable adjustments for postgraduate research (PGR) students. Feedback from both students and staff highlighted that standard undergraduate reasonable adjustments were not always appropriate for PGR study, due to the distinct structure and delivery of research degrees.

In response, a comprehensive consultation was conducted with key stakeholders, resulting in the development of a tailored set of reasonable adjustments designed specifically for PGR contexts. This session will outline the approach taken, key findings, and practical outcomes, offering insights for institutions seeking to better support PGR disabled students.
