How the Denis Law Legacy Trust & RGU partnership transforms student experience and employability

3.25pm – 4.25pm BST, 1 July 2026 ‐ 1 hour

Room: Gateshead suite 3

Workshop

The Denis Law Legacy Trust (DLLT) and Robert Gordon University (RGU) have developed a powerful long term partnership that places students at the heart of community impact. This uplifting session showcases the evolution of our award winning Streetsport programme and the partnership which has enabled students to develop their skills, confidence and employability while delivering life changing experiences to members of the local community.

Delegates will explore how RGU students gain tangible real-world experience through volunteering, placements, research projects and leadership roles within DLLT’s city-wide youth engagement programmes. These experiences enhance confidence, employability, wellbeing and sense of purpose. In addition to creating these opportunities for our students, we have also created the Denis Law RGU Plus Award which enables students to obtain recognition for their contributions, while supporting them to articulate the power of their skills to prospective employers.
