Warwick University launched a project where mature students were at the heart, reimagining a more inclusive, future‑focused higher education landscape.
Working in partnership with student co‑creators, colleagues uncovered four defining themes to shaping the mature student experience: community building, resource visibility, scheduling, and technology confidence. But students didn’t stop at identifying challenges; they drove the solutions. Together, with the Student Experience team, they developed tangible outputs including stronger community‑building opportunities, clearer and more accessible support pathways, enhanced digital guidance, and more flexible approaches to resource access.
This workshop brings the insights to life through an interactive and discussion‑rich format. In small groups, delegates will take part in networking activities designed to spark idea‑sharing, peer learning, and collaborative problem‑solving. There'll be plenty of opportunities to exchange experiences, compare approaches, and build connections with colleagues facing similar sector-wide challenges. We’ll also introduce the new mature student community of practice, led by the University of Warwick.
Delegates will leave with new insights, new connections, and renewed momentum for driving meaningful change for mature students.
