Presentation
This session explores two recent outputs from the Higher Education Mental Health Implementation Taskforce (HEMHIT): the competency framework for responding to students in distress, and the report on developing effective approaches to student support case management.
Competency Framework
Jenny will outline the Competency Framework, which sets out key approaches, skills and knowledge that can enable student-facing staff to respond more effectively and consistently to students’ wellbeing and mental health needs. The framework has been developed with organisations across the sector, including AMOSSHE. This session is an opportunity to engage with the Framework and considers its implications for your own organisation and team.
Case Management Systems
Ben and Emma will present key insights from the Taskforce’s report into the use and implementation of case management systems. They will share recommendations for adopting a whole-institution approach to student wellbeing data and explore how the report can inform the development and/or enhancement of your institution’s existing student support case management practices.
