Workshop
This workshop by the University of Plymouth introduces leaders in higher education to the core principles of compassion‑focused therapy (CFT) and explores how these can transform leadership practice in complex, high‑pressure academic environments.
Using CFT’s evidence‑based model of the three emotional regulation systems: threat, drive, and soothing, delegates will learn how compassion can reduce threat-based cultures, improve psychological safety, and foster more inclusive, stabilising leadership behaviours.
The session will blend theoretical inputs with practical, discussion‑based activities tailored to higher education contexts such as managing change, supporting staff wellbeing, and navigating competing demands. Join to learn how compassionate leadership supports clearer communication and more consistent responses under stress.
