This presentation will share with you how we have created the award-wining AI enabled data dashboard Graduate Career Explorer (GCE). As well as seeing the tool demonstrated we’ll share the learning journey we’ve been on as multi-disciplinary team working in partnership with an external supplier. We will tell you about how we have designed the product around the needs of our students and their local context. We will give you insights into our stakeholder engagement and crucially how we have achieved an extraordinary level of institutional buy-in as we progress plans to embed GCE in the student experience. While GCE is a first and foremost a career learning resource, we will draw out the transferable learning that applies to developing other innovative learning technologies.
Dr Janna Wood is a Senior Lecturer and the Strategic Lead for Employability at the Huddersfield Business School. She is representing the Lightcast project team (of Data Analysts, lectures and careers staff) from the University of Huddersfield who have been working with Lightcast for five years embedding and developing the use of Labour Market big data across the institution. The project team are responsible for creating and developing Graduate Career Explorer (GCE). Janna has been influential in supporting academics to use the tool in their teaching, student support and assessment.
