Presentation
University of Law’s (ULaw) subversive title is with reference to the cost of pursuing a private assessment or being referred to the NHS waiting lists and highlight the respective challenges students face. This medical framework is acutely present. ULaw’s objective has been to empower individuals across the ADHD community with the social model in focus.
This session will explore and share best practice on how ULaw has specifically responded to the growing trend associated with managing and supporting students with undiagnosed ADD/ADHD symptoms in higher education. An overview of ULaw’s developed ADHD coaching program will be shared, based on our review of emerging and shifting annual data. Coupled also with research findings, we will be reviewing and sharing how this has assisted the Disability and Inclusion Service (DIS) in securing funding and research to pilot a coaching programme.
This session will be didactic and interactive and will also look at the challenges faced, lessons learned; evolution of the coaching programme workshop’s content through feedback and a brief overview of the data found to date alongside the university’s future plans.
