AMOSSHE elects new Executive Committee members for 2025 to 2027
Every year, six roles become available on the AMOSSHE Executive Committee, and members have the opportunity to nominate themselves to join the team. The final candidates were chosen by a membership ballot.
The elected members, who will serve for the 2025 to 2027 term of office, are as follows:
- Sarah Sweeney (Lancaster University) is the new Chair.
- Chris Warrington (The University of Leeds) remains as the Vice Chair (Professional Development).
Also, the following Executive Members were elected:
- Aleata Alstad-Calkins (University of Roehampton)
- Sally Lambah (Wrexham University)
- Sarah Richardson (University of Derby)
- Paul Rossi (University of the Arts London)
As the current Vice Chair will become Chair for the next two years, the Vice Chair role becomes vacant for one year. Our rules of association state that the Executive Committee can appoint a member from the current Executive team to any vacant Chair or Vice Chair role.
So, the Executive team has elected Aleata Alstad-Calkins as Vice Chair for the 2025/26 academic year. This creates a one year vacancy for an Executive Member role. Based on the election results, Sammy Li (University of Birmingham) was the next highest-ranking candidate, so he will take an Executive Member role for the 2025/26 academic year.
Emma welcomed all the new members to the Executive Committee and congratulated those who have been re-elected. She also thanked all the candidates for their commitment to AMOSSHE. The new Executive team will assume their roles from 1 August 2025 to 31 July 2027.
The Executive team also gave their thanks to Jill Stevenson, who will leave the Executive in August. Many thanks to her for her hard work and dedication to AMOSSHE for the last eight years.
