Choose this path if this describes your journey in the sector: 

  • You’re new to higher education Student Services at management or leadership level. Perhaps you worked in a different sector previously.
  • You have experience of working in Student Services, but you’re taking on management or leadership responsibility for the first time, or aiming to do this.

New to Student Services leadership

For example, Alex is Head of Student Services at a small specialist arts institution. Alex is new to Student Services in higher education, after a career working in the NHS.

Follow the path

Experienced Student Services leader

Choose this path if this describes your journey in the sector: 

  • You’ve been a Student Services manager or leader for a while and have good experience.
  • You have responsibility for one or more service areas, but you’re not the most senior Student Services leader in your organisation (for example, grade 8 in some organisations).

Experienced Student Services leader

For example, Priya is Head of Student Health and Wellbeing at a medium size post-1992 university.

Senior Student Services leader

Choose this path if this describes your journey in the sector: 

  • You’ve been a Student Services manager or leader for a long time.
  • You’re the senior Student Services leader in your organisation, with several service areas under your remit.

Senior Student Services leader

For example, Laura is Director of Student Services at a large red brick university. She's worked in Student Services for 20 years, at several different institutions.
