Early Career Researcher, Durham University
Melody Bishop is an early career researcher approaching the end of a PhD in Medical Sociology at Durham University. Their PhD takes a qualitative longitudinal approach to exploring transition to university, as experienced by students with long-term health conditions such as asthma, chronic fatigue syndrome, and epilepsy. Melody's work draws on their interdisciplinary background in biomedical sciences, anthropology, and sociology, as well as nearly a decade of experience in student leadership roles. Melody has previously worked in public health (Public Health England; UK Health Security Agency; Office for Health Improvement and Disparities) and is especially motivated by research which engages closely with health and education policy.
