Tessa Harrison is a leadership and career transition coach with over 30 years’ experience in higher education. She has held senior leadership roles within universities including Executive Director of Students & Education at King’s College London; Registrar at the University of Southampton; Registrar & Clerk to the Board at UWE, Bristol. Earlier roles were at Lancaster University and Anglia Ruskin University. She is a former Chair of the Association of University Administrators (now AHEP) and member of AHUA. She spent six years as an executive search partner and consultant with GatenbySanderson, working closely with institutions across the UK on senior and professional services appointments.
Tessa now runs her own leadership coaching business working with higher education leaders navigating role complexity, organisational change and career transitions. Her coaching combines deep sector knowledge with practical insight into how recruitment decisions are made, supporting clients to articulate the full value of their experience, strengthen professional confidence and make informed, values‑aligned career choices.
