Advance HE Athena Swan Charter

Advance HE’s Athena Swan Charter is a framework for supporting and transforming gender equality within higher education and research. The charter is used across the globe to address gender equality more broadly, and not just barriers to progression that affect women.

Advance HE is a member-led charity that works to improve higher education for staff, students and society, with a particular focus on teaching and learning, governance, leadership development and equality, diversity and inclusion.

Advance HE members can apply for institutional and departmental Athena Swan awards recognising their gender equality efforts.
