Global best practices for enhancing access to practices for enhancing access to crisis and inclusive support
As we close out September's Suicide Prevention Month, we invite you to join us for our next webinar “Global best practices for enhancing access to crisis and inclusive support." Ensuring students at risk and students from marginalised groups access support continues to be a top priority this year. A global study led by Harvard University this year found that 47% of students had experienced suicidal thoughts - with the risk higher among certain groups (such as LGBT+ students). Similarly, the National review on suicide prevention published in May recommended that “access to mental health and other support should be reviewed, particularly for those at risk or those likely to experience problems of access e.g. international students". How do we get more students who need support to access support? What can we learn from global best practices to help enhance access to inclusive and crisis support? Additionally, as needs extend beyond office hours and physical campuses, how can we ensure that additional support provided is accessible and safe for all students?
This webinar will showcase:
- Research on access to mental health support, in particular among diverse students and out of hours
- Global best practices for inclusive and crisis support to enhance awareness, access, and safety
- Case studies of global innovation and best practice solutions
The session will be led by Erin Andrews, Global Director, Clinical Affairs, Uwill, the leading mental health and wellness solution, supporting more than 4 million students at 500 institutions worldwide. Join us for the session on Wednesday 22 October at 14:00.
